Rising Musina-based artist Khuliso Mudau, known as Khustar RT, is turning personal struggles into music with his latest Afro-pop single, U Muvhumbi, already resonating with listeners.
Released in March, the song carries a spiritual message of repentance and forgiveness. “No matter how sinful you think you are, there is still forgiveness and a way back to God,” he said.
Khustar RT began his musical journey in 2014 under difficult circumstances, often unable to afford studio time. In 2021, he released his debut EP, Hope, under Visionary Entertainment, reflecting his personal and musical struggles. A year later, he set up his own studio, RunTown Records, with support from Humbulani Mahani, giving him full creative control.
His career gained momentum in 2024 through collaborations with artists including Dalova, Onetime Muimbi, Tonicbeatz, TopCha, Turnkey, and Romeo The Great White, producing hits such as Ndi Tshe Mutuku and Ntendeleni. In 2025, he released his 15-track album Mixed Emotions, marking a major breakthrough.
With U Muvhumbi, which he produced and recorded himself, Khustar RT explores a fresh Afro-pop sound while staying true to his message-driven approach.
