After some time away from the spotlight, Vhembe musician Killer Tee RSA has returned with the release of his much-anticipated EP, Mbilu Yanga, a project he describes as a deeply personal reflection of his life, struggles and determination.
Hailing from Ha-Kutama in the western part of the Vhembe region, Killer Tee RSA says he has remained committed to his music despite facing numerous challenges. Although many people may have thought he had stepped away from the industry, he insists he never abandoned his dream.
“I released this EP to show everyone that I never left music,” he says. “I have faced many setbacks, especially because upcoming artists from Western Ha-Kutama often receive little recognition. But my family and friends never stopped believing in me, and that gave me the strength to keep going.”
The title Mbilu Yanga, which means "My Heart" in Tshivenda, reflects the personal nature of the project. According to Killer Tee RSA, every song on the EP comes directly from his heart and is inspired by real-life experiences that have shaped his journey.
The EP features collaborations with Gee Kay and Jezzy Tee, while Gee Kay also produced the project at Killer Tee RSA's recording studio.
The title track, Mbilu Yanga, holds special significance for the musician, as it gave him the confidence to continue making music after a long period of silence.
“The song explains everything I went through and why I disappeared for so long. It gave me the strength to release more music and believe in myself again,” he says.
Killer Tee RSA hopes listeners will share his music and support him as he continues to build his career.
“My name is Killer Tee, and I just want to become a better artist every day,” he says with confidence.
