For many, writing is a form of expression, but for Kone Munyai from Mashau, it became a path to healing. Her recently published book, Still I Rise: My Healing Journey, is a personal account of her struggles and triumphs, offering hope to others who have faced similar hardships.

In the book, Munyai shares her journey of overcoming childhood trauma, including rape, bullying, and suicidal thoughts. Through raw and heartfelt storytelling, she opens up about the pain she endured and how she found healing.

"What motivated me to write this book was the need to show other young women and men like me that it is possible to rise from the ashes. Journaling and therapy helped me heal, and I believe others can find healing too," she said.

Her journey to publishing Still I Rise was not easy. It took her four years to gather the courage to share her story with the world. "Being vulnerable to that extent was difficult. I felt like I was exposing too much, but after praying about it, I knew I had to do it. God told me that my story could help others see that healing is possible," she said.

To make the book interactive, Munyai included journaling prompts to encourage readers to reflect on their own journeys. "Journaling is like talking to someone who won't judge you. It became a space where I could vent without receiving responses I didn't want to hear. I hope this part of the book will serve as therapy for those who struggle to voice their emotions," she said.

Her message to those battling mental health challenges is clear: "You matter. If you don't take a stand for yourself, no one else will. Heal not just for yourself, but for future generations."
