The Limpopo MEC for Local Government and Housing, Soviet Lekganyane, delivered tents, food parcels and blankets to Musina storm victims a fortnight ago at the Nancefield hall. This follows after heavy rains damaged 35 houses in the area. The inhabitants were left without shelter and were supplied with tents. The mayor of Musina, Cllr Caroline Mahasela, said that a full report report would be submitted to the Department of Local Goverment and Housing to assess how the storm victims could be assisted."We urge community members to help one another," she said and expressed her condolonces and sypamthy to all affected families. "We decided to visit the victims and give tents and food parcels to those affected," said MEC Lekganyane. "We have declared Musina a disaster area," he added. One of the victims of the storm, Ms Elisa Mulea, said she saw the walls started to shake and the roof rattle, before the roof sheets were blown off. "All my furniture and other equipment, valued at more than R60 000, were damaged and I do not have any money to replace my belongings," she said. Elisa is now staying with relatives with her two children.
