The first half was characterised by wasted chances with Lidoda duvha dominating the proceedings. Lesley Langa, a midfielder for Arrows was booked for an illegal tackle on Albert Mushadu. The technical staff for Leopards effected a change much against their wish when they had to introduce Vusi Kharivhe for the injured John Ndou.
Christopher Netshidzivhe was unlucky when his volley hit the crossbar and bounced outside the pitch for a goal kick. A similar situation prevailed in the 35th minute when Kharivhe caught the keeper off guard. Siyabonga Khanyile cleared his grass-cutter from the goal line.
Arrows opened their account in the 44th minute. Tsepo Ntsoane headed home after a square pass from Bongani Ngaka. Leopards left Richard Lishivha in the dressing room at half time. He gave way to Mulondo Sikhwivhilu. They effected another change to their original line up when Magic Ratshivhadelo replaced Byala Mushadu.
Golden Arrows went further ahead in the 70th minute when Tekano Ledimo was tripped within the box. That was a clear penalty for the boys from the seaside. Siyabonga Khanyile put the matter beyond doubt when he showed the Leopards keeper Joel Masutha the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Masutha was cautioned for obstructing Tekano Ledimo. Leopards tried hard to reduce the margin but the defence of Arrows denied them several opportunities. Rian Hartslief scored their only goal from the penalty spot following a penalty that came after Mulondo Sikhwivhilu was tripped in the penalty area.
