Leopards ready for Leicesterford

Black Leopards are confident they can defeat Leicesterford City on Sunday, building on a strong recent performance. Despite a previous loss to City, key players return, and the team aims to avoid relegation.

Black Leopards are confident they can rise to the occasion and beat Leicesterford City when the two sides meet at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.

One of Black Leopards’ co-coaches, Sundra Govinder, said the team’s performance in last Saturday’s game against Midlands Wanderers showed that Lidoda Duvha are determined to avoid relegation. “We could have torn Wanderers apart if luck had been on our side,” he said, praising the Wanderers’ goalkeeper for outstanding saves that earned him Man of the Match.

Govinder added that their plan is to build on that performance when they face City on Sunday. Black Leopards lost 1–0 to Leicesterford City in their first-round league match at Dobsonville Stadium on 28 September.

City head coach Stanford Nkoane said he will not underestimate Black Leopards despite their league position and expects a tough match.

Leopards’ centre forward Donald Mudau is expected to start after recovering from a knee injury. Midfielders Goodman Chirwa, Thabana Mabena, and Carnel Cameron will be relied upon to drive play forward. Chirwa scored in the Leopards’ 1–1 draw with Midlands Wanderers at Princess Magogo Stadium last Saturday.
