After a beak of three weeks, it will be business as usual for the teams affiliated to the NFD this weekend. Thohoyandou Stadium will be the centre for attention tomorrow afternoon when Black Leopards host African Warriors.
Black Leopards' newly appointed head coach, Mr Sello Chokoe, will be sitting on the team's technical bench for the first time. Chokoe joined the Thohoyandou outfit, following the departure of the Serbian national, Mr Kostadin Papic, three weeks ago. Although Leopards have been seriously hit by injuries, the club's chairman, Mr David Thidiela, remains adamant that the appointment of Chokoe will change the team's fortunes. He stated that they wanted to win their remaining seven matches and finish the current league programme on a high note.
Lidoda Duvha will be without four of their key players, namely Leonard Ntshangase, Marks Munyai, Meshack Maphangule and Jonathan King. According to Thidiela, Ntshangase and Munyai will be out of action for the remaining part of the season. Maphangule will be ready in two weeks' time while King, who has been out of action for five months, started with some light training last week.
The only good thing for Leopards is that their regular keeper, Avhashoni Tshinuna, will be available tomorrow. Tshinuna sustained an injury in their game against Moroka Swallows at the Thohoyandou Stadium last month.
FC Cape Town will host Moroka Swallows at the NNK Rugby Stadium. Cape Town All Stars and Royal Eagles will meet at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Highlandspark and Witbank Spurs will lock horns in Thembisa. Milano United will pay a visit to Mthatha Bucks. Santos and Vasco da Gama will test each other's strength at the Athlone Stadium in their Cape Town derby.
Sunday fixtures are: Amazulu vs Thanda Royal Zulu and Mbombela United vs Baroka FC.
