Black Leopards FC are on a mission to revive their supporter branches. The Thohoyandou branch was relaunched at the Khoroni Hotel in Thohoyandou last Saturday.

When delivering the keynote address during the ceremony, the president of the club, Mr David Thidiela, said that the supporter branches needed to be revived after the team had been relegated to the lower division at the end of last season.

Thidiela said that the club's supporters were about to join other clubs as a result of frustrations with Lidoda Duvha's relegation to the lower league. Tshifhe, as he is affectionately called, reiterated that his decision to buy the Motsepe Foundation Championship status from Cape Town All Stars had been influenced by his love of the residents of Vhembe.

He stated that the club had changed the lives of many people in Vhembe for the better through the provision of permanent and periodic employment. Ms Bridget Tshifhango, who shared the podium with Mr Thidiela, said that they would be on the road in the next three months. Their target is to relaunch at least 50 branches countrywide before the end of this year.

The new members of the branch's executive committee were elected during the ceremony. Mr Ndivhuwo Takalani is the new chairman of the committee. The other members of the executive committee are Julia Makhado (deputy chairperson), Hezekiel Singo (treasurer), Thanyani Muhanelwa (secretary), Martin Mudau (deputy secretary), and Mutshutshu Neshehe (organizer). The other members of the committee are Mr. Louis Mathavha, Vera Mulondo, and Rudzani Mangale.
