One of the Vhembe-District-based Vodacom Promotional League sides, Limpopo United, have a new nursery for players. This follows their agreement with the management of one of the local development sides, Khalavha Silver Cosmos.
According to the agreement, Limpopo United will use Khalavha Silver Cosmos as their development side. The announcement was made after the league game between Limpopo United and Bahwiti FC, which was held at the Tshikombani Stadium last Saturday.
It was during that ceremony where the general manager of United, Mr Sathiel Phasha, handed over training equipment and two soccer kits to the managing director of Silver Cosmos, Mr Ndivheni Tshiololi. In terms of the agreement, United will have the power to pick any player of their choice who impresses their technical staff from Silver Cosmos at any time.
During an interview with Phasha, he indicated that they were happy with the relationship, saying their dream of utilizing local players only in their senior team will soon be realized. He revealed that the majority of the players who are currently registered with United are from outside the province.
During the ceremony, the managing director of Silver Cosmos, Mr Ndivheni Tshiololi, said that the new development would make things easier for them, as they would no longer take the promising players to the reef to try their luck with the professional sides.
Tshiololi also stated that Silver Cosmos had already produced a number of players who were doing duty in the professional ranks. Rudzani Ramudzuli and Luvhengo Mungomeni are playing for Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively and started their careers with Cosmos, Tshiololi said.
