The SAFA Vhembe Regional League will host the annual provincial promotional playoffs at Malamulele Stadium over the weekend of 25 and 26 July.
According to the general secretary of the league, Mr Samuel Matodzi, the association will hold a general meeting with affiliate clubs this Saturday, during which the league logs for the current soccer season will be adopted.
Matodzi said pending disciplinary cases will not affect the teams contesting the league championship in their respective streams. He added that a decision on how teams participating in the regional promotional playoffs will be grouped will also be taken during Saturday’s meeting.
The group-stage matches will be played at three different venues next weekend, on 4 and 5 July. Teams that have already secured places in the regional playoffs are Berea FC, Tshamutilikwa Fire Boys, Ndiitwani Shooting Stars, Ramahantsha Blackpool, ABC FC, Saudi FC and Mukondeni Royal FC.
The regional semi-final and final matches will be played at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday, 11 July. The regional champions will receive R100,000 and a floating trophy. The team will represent the region in the provincial promotional playoffs.
Five regional champions will take part in the provincial competition. The top two teams in the provincial promotional playoffs will be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League.
