Four-year-old Nyiko Chauke from Malamulele has been crawling her way into the world of pageants since she was only a baby. Now this adorable little girl seems to have toddled her way into the hearts of many beauty enthusiasts as well. Nyiko was recently selected as a semi-finalist for the Little Miss Limpopo Province 2023 pageant, already making a name for herself in the modelling industry.
The cheerful little contestant entered her first pageant, the Little Miss Lead SA in Polokwane, in 2020, when she was two years old. Unfortunately, she did not make the top 3, but this did not discourage her mother, the well-known actress Patience Chauke, from entering her daughter in other pageants.
Patricia says her daughter loves modelling. "I saw an advert for the Little Miss Limpopo Province and decided to take the chance. I entered her into the competition, and she was selected as a semi-finalist out of 500 entries. She was so excited when she heard the news," said the proud mother.
Patricia says that the journey in the Little Miss Limpopo Province so far has already taught her daughter a lot. "They are given tasks to perform, like doing community work, and she is learning to give to the less privileged at her young age. Seeing her put a smile on other people's faces just melts my heart. I really believe that this competition will give my daughter the confidence to conquer life as she grows up."
Patricia wants to encourage other parents to allow their children to follow their dreams, what they love. "If your child has a dream of becoming a model – whether it is a pageant model, fashion or commercial model - allow them to go for it. Opportunities don't fall into your lap, you have to chase them," she said.
