An Eskom power system emergency has been declared for Friday, 18 October, with Stage 1 load shedding to be implemented.

An Eskom power system emergency has been declared for Friday, 18 October, with Stage 1 load shedding to be implemented.

The following areas will be affected from 09:00 to 11:30:

Malamulele areas including Mangondi, Mulenzhe, Hlanganani areas, Masia, Majozi, Tiyani, Rotterdam, Mahatlani, Bungeni, Basani, Nwamatatani, Olifantshoek Masakona, Njhakajhaka, nkuzana, etc.

From 11:00 to 13:30 the following areas will be affected:

Louis Trichardt, Valdezia, Levubu, Elim areas, Bungeni, Chavani, Vleifontein, Mashau, Vuwani areas, Nesengani, Madombidzha areas and Sinthumule areas.

From 13:00 to 15:30 the areas to be affected include Tshakhuma, Lwamondo, Shayandima, Muledane, Thohoyandou, Sibasa, Ngovhela, Phiphidi, Gondeni, Vhufuli, Makonde, Tshikweta, Thengwe, Sanari, Masisi, Malale, Madimbo, Muswodi etc. and all Mutale areas.

All below areas will not be affected by today's load shedding, however, should there be any changes Eskom shall communicate accordingly:

Musina town, Nancefield, Leeudraai, Tshipise Forever Resorts, Pontdrif, Alldays, Soutpan, Bochum, all Nzhelele villages, Mukondeni, Mashamba, Tshivhuyuni, Mulima, Nthabalala, Tshitale, Muwaweni, Mbhokota, Riverplats, Botlokwa and Soekmekaar.

The probability of load shedding over the weekend is low, but it will be communicated accordingly, states Eskom.
