Local reggae musician Lordy Muvhango has released his latest album, Rokunda, last Friday.
Muvhango, who hails from the village of Halambani in Vhembe District, began his musical journey in 2007 when he first started playing instruments, guided by passion and raw talent.
His professional breakthrough came in 2015, with the release of his debut album, Africa Tshipembe, which introduced him as a rising voice in South African reggae. He followed up in 2022 with his second project, Vivho, cementing his place in the industry.
Speaking to Limpopo Mirror on Sunday, Muvhango said he drew inspiration from the late reggae singer Jahman Chiganja, whose sound and message had played a major role in shaping his career.
Rokunda consists of four tracks: Tshirunzi, featuring Rofhiwa Nethwadzi and Jahman Chopper; Hu Livhala Mubai, featuring Jahman Chopper; Hu Vhushaka Kha Vhuf,e featuring Jahman Chopper; and Vhutshivha Ndiha Mini.
The album was recorded at TKM Records in Krugersdorp and produced and arranged by Takalani Mudau.
