The Thulamela Local Municipality, in partnership with the Vhembe District Municipality (VDM), purchased exhibition space for nine small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMME) from the Vhembe District to showcase their crafted products, produce and services at this year's Rand Easter Show, held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec from 6-10 April.

The annual Rand Show is not only South Africa's longest-standing and largest consumer exhibition, but also an excellent platform for businesses to present their brands effectively to an audience of tens of thousands.

The managing director and owner of Laranatha Herbal Tea, Mr Divhani Dagada, thanked the government and the Rand Show for giving them this level of exposure. "Thank you, Rand Show, for the opportunity to showcase our products. We met some really amazing people here who will forever leave a mark on our businesses."

He also thanked each and every customer who supported them in buying their products. "One of the quickest and most engaging ways to get a brand in front of thousands of people is at an expo," he said.

The VDM's MMC for planning and development, Cllr Rose Mathukha, encouraged the district's youth to start their own businesses in order to fight poverty. "The government and the private sector are there to fund businesses. Young people must take advantage of these funds in starting their businesses," she said.
