After recognising the need for qualified snake handlers in their community, the Louis Trichardt SPCA recently took steps to fill that gap.
"Over the past weekend, three of our dedicated team members successfully attended the ASI – African Snake Handling Training (Level 1 & 2). We're incredibly proud of their commitment to learning and ensuring the safety of both people and wildlife," said the SPCA.
The three members who completed the snake-handling training were the SPCA's own senior inspector, Lawrence Khodobo, as well as community members Stoffel du Toit and Taylor du Plessis.
The SPCA extended its heartfelt thanks to these members for their time, dedication, and willingness to assist the community whenever needed. Their efforts, said the SPCA, ensure that snakes are removed safely, humanely, and correctly and released back into their natural environment. "We truly appreciate your willingness to help," said the SPCA.
