The annual Zama Zama Soccer Challenge will be officially launched during a ceremony to be held at the Giyani Multi-Purpose Centre on Sunday morning.
According to the tournament director, Mr Joel Baloyi, teams intending to take part in the tournament are expected to send two delegates to the meeting.
Baloyi appealed to the delegates to bring along the registration fee of R850, saying failure to do so would mean no participation in the event. He further indicated that they intend to register 32 clubs in the tournament. The same number of clubs was registered last year. The toss for the opening matches will be conducted during the meeting.
According to him, this year's champions will become R25 000 richer and they will also receive a soccer kit, floating trophy and gold medals. The runners-up will take home R15 000 and silver medals. Teams booted out of the tournament in the semifinal stage will each receive R5 000.
Awards will be presented to the top goal scorer, best player in the tournament, goalkeeper of the tournament, best coach and the best referee. The opening matches for the tournament will be played on Friday, 16 December, while the final will be staged on 31 December. All matches will be played at the Homu B grounds.
Sunday's meeting is scheduled to start at 09:30.
