Mr Thomas Ramphaka, spokesperson for the organisers, said Vhembe was a region rich in talent. "We have seen some talented South African soccer players being unearthed from this area over the years," he said. He also thanked the sponsors. "Despite the difficult economic conditions, we still find companies that are prepared to share their takings and support sport," he added.
Tshikhwani Stone Breakers coach Mr Tsotso Mulaudzi said his team usually performed well in knock-out competitions. "I've told my boys that we can perform well this year if we just focus and give our best. We are ready for the final battle. By winning the soccer challenge, we will not only make ourselves proud, but the community and management as well," he said.
Mr Aluwani "Droga" Rambau, manager of JP Movers, expressed satisfaction with his team's progress. He said their preparations were going well. "My boys are looking forward to this challenge. The boys must master the art of concentration and focus. I have therefore prepared them mentally not to make simple mistakes," he said.
