The quarter-final, semi-final, and final matches for the NCNV Holdings and Imvelo Security Soccer Tournament will be played at the Makonde Stadium this weekend. The opening matches were played at the same venue over the past weekend.
The first quarter-final match will be between Ngwenani Young Chiefs and Makonde FC on Saturday, starting at 09:00. Young Chiefs beat Tshamutilikwa Fire Boys 2-1 to secure a place in the quarter-finals, while Makonde's path to the quarter-finals came via Gondeni Big Cats, whom they narrowly beat 1-0 last Saturday.
Sambandou United Professionals will meet Makonde Home Defenders in the second quarter-final, which is scheduled to start at 11:00.
Saudi FC will face Musasenda Big Five in another fixture. Saudi's journey to the quarter-finals was thorny and rocky. They defeated Tshimuthe FC 8-7 in their opening-round match, with the winner determined through a penalty shootout after a goalless draw at the end of regulation time. Musasenda Big Five are still in joyous mood after being crowned the champions of the Vision Soccer Tournament at the Khubvi Benjie's Grounds three weeks ago.
The last quarterfinal match will be between ABC FC and Berea FC. Berea is expected to beat ABC easily and proceed to the semi-final round if their performance in their opening game against Makwarani Frelimo Boys is anything to go by. Berea beat Frelimo Boys 5-1.
The draw for the semi-final matches will be conducted after the last quarter-final match on Saturday afternoon. The semi-final and final matches will be played on Sunday. The champions will take home a whopping R10,000, a floating trophy, and gold medals. The runners-up will receive R5,000 and silver medals.
