The representative from Vhembe Love Life, Mr Elvis Chauke, conducted the official launch of the project last Thursday at Tshiozwi. According to the president of the project, Mr Avhasei Mavhandu, their main purpose in forming a youth organisation is to help youths who have lost direction in their lives. Mavhandu pointed out that the organisations in Sinthumule/Kutama will not function effectively if they are divided.
Chauke said it was a pity that young girls were deeply involved in alleviating poverty through prostitution without being aware that they were putting their lives in danger. “One cannot alleviate poverty through prostitution when HIV is spreading so fast.” He urged the youth to be serious with their school work and be wary of adults who betray their trust.
“Do not let them trample on your rights by abusing you. Don’t tolerate abuse and report all abuse to the police,” he said.
