Lidzebe Midalo from Maniini, also known as LP Midalo, has given music lovers plenty to look forward to this summer with the release of his full debut studio album, titled Thohoyandou Love II.

"I'm working on creating a distinct sound of my own, and so far, the fans are loving the album," he said.
The album features local artists such as Pushie Da Tall, T Cole Matoro, Stambo Deejay and many more. "I talk about love of humanity, love of a partner (as in track four, named Thailand), and love for the wonderful land that Mwali (God) has given us, and all of us to start enjoying our freedom," he said.
The 25-year-old began his musical career as a songwriter in 2008 and has since recorded several singles, three mixtapes, and two EPs. He always strives to exceed his audiences' wildest expectations by making each one of his performances great. "I started creating music at a young age, and being around producers and rappers influenced me a lot. After learning how to rap, I began recording my own beats, which earned me many fans," he explained.
The fast-rising artist used to sing hip-hop and VenRap music. However, two years ago, he introduced his own, personalised genre termed Venda Beats, which is a combination of Afro beats, traditional Venda and New Age sounds. "I wanted to create something unheard of - an authentic sound we can call our own, because I can't be making hip-hop music in Africa and expect to outshine a rapper from the United States," he said.
