Lufuno Phalanndwa's Lord I Thank You Show, which was scheduled for the Easter weekend, was suspended because of the outbreak of the coronavirus, which led to the countrywide lockdown.

His much-anticipated second live recording, billed for November this year, also hangs in the balance, but Phalanndwa remains optimistic that everything will get back to normal.

Since his near-fatal accident in June 2019, Phalanndwa is yet to host a musical show and was looking forward to testifying through newly written songs. Despite the setback, the multi-award-winning gospel artist believes that the havoc that Covid-19 has wreaked worldwide needs all people to humble themselves, ask for forgiveness of sins and pray to the Lord who has the power to heal the land.

"I wanted to host my show and also record my second album this year, but the circumstances derailed our plans," he said. "Our country is in a state of disaster and I believe that the lockdown was necessary in our fight against coronavirus."

He also urged his supporters and all South Africans to obey the regulations and follow all precautionary measures.

Phalanndwa said: "Please stay at home to protect yourself and others, wash your hands regularly with soap or sanitiser and always keep a social distance from other people. We are not doing this for the government but for our wellbeing. We will defeat this pandemic if we are obedient to our leaders; sulking and exposing ourselves to danger will exacerbate the situation."

Apart from his two shows, Phalanndwa was to be featured on Courage Dangale and Grace Mulaudzi's debut albums, which were initially scheduled to take place in August this year. The two songstresses are likely to wait a little longer before kicking off their professional gospel journey. Lufuno Phalanndwa fans have been glued to his Facebook page where he sings for them live during this lockdown period.
