Ngudza Sport Grounds will be a hive of activity over the Easter weekend as the annual Lumveleni Easter Soccer Tournament gets under way. Sixteen teams from across Vhembe will take part in this year's edition of the tournament.

Four matches are scheduled for Friday. The day's programme will kick off with a clash between Tshivhulani Fire Brothers and Lwamondo Mighty Brothers at 09:00. That will be followed by Blue Birds taking on Buluni Happy Boys.

Mighty Super Power will be hoping to avoid a heavy defeat when they face Shayandima Dynamos, who are currently topping Stream D of the Safa Vhembe Regional League. One of the most anticipated matches of the day is between Univen FC and Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars as both sides are in contention for league titles in their respective streams.

On Saturday, Tshikambe FC will take on Tshitanini FC in one of the four fixtures. Tshilavulu Elite will be looking to upset Ndiitwani Shooting Stars, followed by a match between Kwena FC and Rockers FC.

The day's highlight is expected to be the clash between Ngwenani Young Chiefs and Ngudza Young Vultures. Chiefs are tipped as favourites to lift the trophy, especially after their emphatic 5–0 win over Shonisani FC in a league match at the Ngwenani Grounds last Sunday.

Quarter-final matches will be played on Sunday, with the semi-finals and final scheduled for Monday.

This year's winners will walk away with R15,000, gold medals, a floating trophy, a soccer kit and a soccer ball. The runners-up will receive R8,000, silver medals, a soccer kit and a soccer ball, while the third- and fourth-placed teams will take home R5,000 and R3,000 respectively.
