Despite her being in the modelling industry for only a year, Lutendo Muthala has achieved significant success in recent months. She currently holds the title of Miss Khubvi 2022/2023, was chosen as Miss Davhana Ambassador 2022, and is now among the top 12 finalists competing for the Miss Makhado Royal 2023 crown.
Hailing from Tshiombo, near Thohoyandou, the 20-year-old Lutendo developed an interest in modelling last year after attending the crowning of the Miss Univen pageant. She considers joining the modelling industry as one of the best decisions she has ever made as it has helped boost her confidence and overcome bullying experiences. Additionally, she values the opportunity to meet new people and form a sisterhood with fellow women while giving back to the community.
Balancing her modelling pursuits with academics, Lutendo has learnt valuable time-management skills. She draws inspiration from her mentor, Pfariso Pedrossa.
As part of the Miss Makhado Royal 2023 competition, the finalists are required to raise funds for charity. Lutendo is organising a toiletry charity drive, aiming to collect items such as sanitary towels, toothpaste, and more.
The final of the Miss Makhado Royal 2023 pageant will take place in Louis Trichardt on 16 December this year.
