Hollywoodbets Mabaleng Development were crowned champions of the Collins Sebola Group Summer Games 2024 after defeating Tshikota Chelsea FC 8-7 in a penalty shootout. The final, played on 29 December, ended 1-1, with the winner decided by penalties.
The tournament, held at the Mabaleng Sports Grounds in Tshiozwi, was organised by Mamu Community Development. Hollywoodbets Mabaleng Development triumphed 6-2 over Madabani Green Mambas in the semi-final, played on 28 December, while Tshikota Chelsea FC defeated Madombidzha Hungry City Lions FC 7-0 to reach the final.
The winning team received R10,000, a trophy, gold medals, a new soccer kit, and hampers.
Hollywoodbets Mabaleng Development's head coach, Mr Gundas Mulaudzi, expressed satisfaction with his team's preparation, noting that they began practising two months in advance. Mulaudzi was particularly impressed by the players' commitment throughout the tournament.
The sponsor, Mr Collins Sebola of the Collins Sebola Group, praised the smooth running of the tournament and expressed his excitement for future editions. He also thanked Mamu Community Development for their continued efforts in supporting the community.
