South African musician and actress Maduvha Madima has returned to the music scene with the release of her new EP, Sounds From Home, a project inspired by African heritage, culture and identity.
The EP blends indigenous African sounds with contemporary production, showcasing Madima’s artistic growth and her commitment to preserving authentic local music. It explores themes of unity, spirituality, nostalgia and pride in African roots.
The project features collaborations with legendary choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo on the song Ro Themba Vhone, as well as the acclaimed Soweto String Quartet on Mapungubwe.
Other tracks on the EP include Makube Njalo, Ro Themba Vhone, South Africa and Thungununu. Through the project, Madima draws on Venda musical influences while celebrating the diversity of South African sound.
Sounds From Home has already received praise from listeners for its originality and rich cultural storytelling.
