The fans of Rospa United left the Tshifulanani Stadium with sore hearts, after their team lost 2-3 to Magezi FC in their Vodacom Promotional League match on Sunday.

United squandered numerous scoring chances in the game. They should have scored at least four goals in the first half. They managed to convert only one of their numerous chances. Their opening goal came in the 24th minute, when their slender striker, Mduduzi Skhakhane, hooked in the ball, following a square pass from Mashudu Mashapha.

The referee, Mr Martin Sivhada, warned David Maluleke of Magezi with a card, following a dangerous tackle on Mashudu Mashapha in the 29th minute.

Rospa United were leading 1-0 when the teams adjourned for half time, with the team continuing to dominate the proceedings in the last half.

As if the final whistle had already blown, they relaxed on the ball and continued to play like there was nothing at stake. Magezi gained momentum with time. They found the equaliser in the 64th minute. Lekgoana Laka headed home, following a neat pass from Moses Karabo.

The captain of Rospa United, Meshack Maphangule, was reprimanded with a card, following a continued argument with the referee. United committed suicide by replacing Mukhethwa Mukoma with Carson Chauke. They then conceded two goals in quick succession, with Noko Lekota and Karabo Selabe scoring for Magezi in the 69th and 74th minute respectively.

Although he came on as a substitute, Carson Chauke was later replaced with Michael Moloto in the 78th minute. United scored their second goal via Mduduzi Skhakhane in the 86th minute.
