The Premier Soccer League has announced the dates, venues and kick-off times for the last-16 round of the Nedbank Cup KO competition. The matches will be played during the first week of next month.
The first match will be played on 1 April, when Magezi FC, the only surviving ABC Motsepe League side, will host Bidvest Wits at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. In an interview with Limpopo Mirror, the coach of Magezi FC, Mr Joel Mongalo, reiterated that they would not disappoint the people of Limpopo, saying they were fully aware of the fact that they were the only amateur side surviving in the competition.
Four matches will be played the following day, Saturday 2 April. The 2008 finalists, Mpumalanga Black Aces, will welcome Maritzburg United in Nelspruit. Maritzburg United beat Black Leopards 3-1 in their last-32 stage match. Polokwane City will travel to Rustenburg where they will lock horns with Platinum Stars. Free State Stars will take a trip to the mother city for their match against Santos.
The defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, will entertain the NFD side, Mbombela United, at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria. The NFD log leaders, Baroka FC, will play against Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.
Arrows will get the shock of their lives if they take Baroka for granted. The strikers of Baroka, Thabiso Kutumela, Jacky Mothegwa and Ndivhuwo "Segere" Ravhuhali, have everything one may ask from a killer-striker. Baroka unexpectedly beat Chippa United, a PSL team, 3-2 in their last-32 round match.
The last match will be played on Tuesday, April 5, when Supersport United and University of Pretoria will meet in Pretoria.
