Mourners paid their last respects as Magwada Donald Phadziri (54), one of the managers of Phadziri Bus Services, was laid to rest on Sunday, 20 June.
Phadziri died after a short illness at his home in Gogobole on 17 June.
A community leader of Gogobole, Mr George Maphala, said that Phadziri had served his community with dignity. "Many of his passengers would testify that Donald would sacrifice anything for his work. We wish there were more dedicated people like him."
Phadziri's younger brother, Nkhangweni Phadziri, said that, although the family had made their peace with their beloved's death, losing someone dear was never an easy thing to deal with. "We run short of words to express our grief. He worked tirelessly for the development of this company, and his contributions will remain for all to see. We will miss him dearly."
The chairperson of the Vhembe Bus Association, Ms Maria Mulaudzi, conveyed her condolences to the bereaved family. She said that the association would sorely miss the good working relationship and support they had received from the Phadziri family. "The role he played in fostering unity, discipline, hard work and dedication within the family and community shall always be cherished," Mulaudzi said.
