Magwedzha Clinic to close temporarily for urgent repairs

Magwedzha Clinic will temporarily close for two weeks starting February 26th for urgent water and sewerage system repairs, ensuring patient and staff safety. Patients should use nearby facilities or collect chronic medication at Thohoyandou Health Centre during this period.

Magwedzha Clinic in Dumasi village, outside Thohoyandou, will close temporarily from Thursday, 26 February, to allow for urgent repairs to the facility’s water and sewerage system. The closure is expected to last about two weeks.

Department spokesperson Neil Shikwambana said the repairs are essential for the safety and hygiene of patients and staff. “The temporary closure is essential to protect both patients and healthcare workers and to improve service delivery at the facility,” he said.

During the repair period, contractors will be on site to complete the maintenance work. Patients are advised to use nearby health facilities while the clinic is closed. Those who normally collect chronic medication parcels at Magwedzha Clinic should collect them from the Thohoyandou Health Centre instead.

The department apologised for any inconvenience and urged the community to plan accordingly.
