After a break of two weeks to allow the other teams to play their outstanding matches, Maindis Ladies FC will be back in action this weekend. They will host Durban Ladies in their Hollywood Bets Super League match at the Giyani Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Whether Maindis will continue from where they left off two weeks ago remains to be seen. Their last match was against Golden Ladies, whom they crushed 4-1, at the Mahikeng Stadium in the Northwest Province on Saturday, 16 October.
According to the assistant coach of the team, Ms Rhulani Mathebula, Durban Ladies will be lucky if by chance they manage to go back to Durban with a draw. Ms Mathebula revealed that they had used the past two weeks to tighten up the team's loose ends.
Durban Ladies are still in mourning, following their 0-3 defeat at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Stadium in Pretoria last Saturday. Durban Ladies are not safe when it comes to relegation. They are perched in the third position from the bottom of the log. On the other hand, Maindis are lying in the eighth spot on the log standings with 25 points.
The visitors from Durban must keep an eye on the goal poachers of Maindis in Molepo Rapatsa, Tswarelo Digaota and the team's captain, Xiluva Tshabalala. Maindis have one of the best goalkeepers in the league in Theledi Monnye.
Tshwane University of Technology FC will host Thunderbirds Ladies at the TUT Campus Stadium. The pace setters, Mamelodi Sundowns, will host Coal City Wizards at the Loftus Stadium in Pretoria. Richmond United will entertain the University of Western Cape Ladies at the Galeshewe Stadium in Kimberly. JVW FC will host First Touch at the Tsakane Stadium in Johannesburg in the only match that will be played on Sunday.
