Maindis Ladies did not waste any time in Kwazulu-Natal after their midweek game against Durban Ladies, which was played at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Instead, they drove back to Limpopo to start with their preparations for their Hollywoodbets Super League match against Golden Ladies, which will be played at the Giyani Stadium on Saturday.
The result of their game against Durban Ladies was not available at the time of our going to print. Should they fail to collect the maximum points against Golden Ladies on Saturday, Maindis will have only themselves to blame. Golden Ladies are one of the relegation candidates. They are lying in the second-last position on the log standings. The North West side managed to collect only five points from the 24 matches they have played to date.
As for Maindis, they must win the match at all costs to accomplish their mission. According to the team's head coach, Mr Sipho Mabuza, his mandate is to ensure that the team get counted among the top four at the end of the season.
Mr Mabuza is optimistic that the mandate is still achievable when taking into account the fact that his team are currently lying in the eighth position with 40 points, seven behind the third-placed side, University of the Western Cape FC. (The result of Wednesday's game against Durban Ladies not included).
Bloemfontein Celtic will take on JVW FC at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein. The other weekend fixtures are Richmond United vs Durban Ladies, Thunderbirds Ladies vs Coal City Wizards, Tsunami Queens vs City Lads and TUT Ladies vs Vasco da Gama.
The fixtures for the three matches that will be played next Wednesday (5 November) are City Lads vs Vasco da Gama, Coal City Wizards vs JVW FC and UWC vs Richmond United.
