Limpopo reggae musician Majasi has released a new EP, Rido Shavhela Ngafhi, marking a significant return to the music scene after a lengthy break.
The project was produced at Ropa Bass Studios by Rofhiwa Tshumulo. The EP signals renewed focus and artistic maturity from the artist, who first gained widespread attention with his all-time hit Ahuna Zwinwe, produced by his uncle, Khakhathi Tshisikule.
That earlier release positioned Majasi among Limpopo’s notable reggae voices and built a loyal following across the province.
On Rido Shavhela Ngafhi, Majasi collaborates with Rofhiwa Nethwadzi and Phathutshedzo Mugwedi on the track Zwiito. He also features Ras Triple B on Vhutama Tama, adding varied vocal textures and perspectives to the project. The collaborations complement his signature reggae rhythms while expanding the EP’s soundscape.
Speaking about the release, Majasi said the album addresses various life issues, his music, personal experiences, and everyday struggles.
The body of work explores themes of resilience, identity, and perseverance, reflecting challenges faced by ordinary people. Through steady rhythms and thoughtful lyrics, Majasi delivers a project that balances social commentary with personal reflection.
