The annual Makhado Show is back this year, promising entertainment for young and old. The show will take place at the Makhado Show Grounds from 26 to 29 July.
With an expected attendance of 35,000 visitors over the four days, the show will offer a variety of activities, including helicopter rides, family games, a music festival, and an open-field cinema, among others. Stalls will be set up where visitors can purchase products such as toys, arts and crafts, a variety of foods, clothes, and more.
The exhibition will also provide an opportunity for learners and students to gather information on careers within government departments, private sectors, and parastatals. Academic institutions such as universities, colleges, and training centres will also be showcasing their offerings. Additionally, an operational exhibition featuring sectors such as mining, retail stores, and radio stations that are relevant to the academic field and offer employment opportunities in respective fields will be on show.
The show will be officially opened on Wednesday, 26 July, with a mayoral parade starting at the local municipality. On the second day (Thursday), visitors will enjoy cultural dances, traditional games, and local movie screenings.
Friday, 28 July, will feature a local film exhibition, the final of the mayoral soccer tournament, boxing matches, and a gospel festival starting at 15:00. Artists such as Rofhiwa Manyaga, Ngudo Praise, Masana, and others will perform.
On the last day of the show (Saturday), which is expected to attract even more attendees, a fun fair, local film exhibition, and a music festival featuring various local artists, starting at 15:00, will be on offer.
