The Makhado Police managed to recover two stolen vehicles late yesterday afternoon.

During an intelligence driven operation, in which the Musina VIS unit provided assistance, the vehicles worth R1 million was recovered at the Texas Lodge in Waterval. One was a Toyota Fortuner, reported hijacked in Hillcrest at the beginning of the month, and a Toyota Hilux double cab reported stolen in Durban North during January this year.

According to the head of Limpopo's police communication, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, police acted on a tip-off about the presence of three suspected stolen vehicles at the lodge. "When the police pounced on the said premises, the third vehicle had already gone," said Mojapelo.

He further confirmed that four suspects managed to elude police arrests by fleeing into the nearby bushes. "Police investigations to locate them are continuing," said Mojapelo.
