Tsumbedzo "Zoo" Manamela, the new coach of Makonde FC, a team competing in SAFA Vhembe Stream B, is leaving no stone unturned in preparing the team for their remaining matches. Makonde are currently in third position on the log with 14 points, just two points behind the leaders, after seven matches.
Manamela, who previously coached ABC Motsepe League teams such as Ablex United FC, United Artists, and Vondwe XI Bullets, has had his team in continuous training since he joined them last month. "The boys are doing their best, and I am impressed with their performance," he said.
He admitted that he did not know much about most of the teams playing in their stream but expressed confidence in his team's potential to win the stream and secure promotion at the end of the season. He appealed to local football lovers to rally behind the team.
Manamela also stated that his ultimate goal was to produce more players who could advance to play in the country's elite leagues. He believes this will be possible if he can guide Makonde FC to compete in the National First Division (NFD) or Premier Soccer League (PSL).
