The Musina community is reeling from the loss of Ms Flora Tebogo Maluleke (48), the customs manager of the South African Revenue Service (SARS) stationed at the Beitbridge Border Post. Maluleke passed away on Thursday, 3 August, following a brief illness.
Mourners gathered for the funeral service on Saturday, 12 August, at the Nancefield Multipurpose Centre before proceeding to the Nancefield Cemetery for her burial. In a message conveyed by Mr Joel Baloyi on behalf of her husband, Tebogo's death had deeply impacted her spouse, children, and entire family.
Representing her friends, Ms Jeanette Raphalalani characterised Maluleke as a remarkably friendly individual. "We cannot fathom life without you, my friend. Nevertheless, we will always cherish the positive contributions you made to our lives during your time with us," she shared.
Born in Musina on 7 November 1974, Maluleke started her educational journey at Bonwa-Udi Primary School, eventually progressing to Musina High School, where she completed matric in 1992. She initially worked at a local chain store before joining SARS as a customs officer in 1996. She climbed the ranks and ultimately ascended to the role of team leader. In 2015, she achieved the position of customs manager – which she held until her untimely passing.
During her tenure at SARS, Maluleke completed her bachelor's degree in business management.
Nurtured in the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) community, Maluleke extended her care and devotion to the children in her church. As part of her social commitment, she provided meals for children and contributed to their school uniforms. Within the church structure, she occupied several positions, including membership in the local church development committee (LCDC) and leadership of the Musina ZCC choir.
She was wedded to Isaac Hlamalani Maluleke, and the couple were blessed with five beautiful children.
