Mashamba Academy were crowned the new Masungulo IT College KO champions, when they beat Mashamba Benfica 5-4 in the final match.
The game was played at the Mashamba grounds on Sunday. They winner was determined by a penalty shoot-out after the match ended in a goalless draw.
Academy was the superior side from the onset as far as possession of the ball was concerned. This resulted in their putting more pressure on the defence of Benfica for most of the match. The second half was characterised by dangerous play from Academy's players.
In an attempt to calm the situation, the referee flashed some yellow cards in quick succession. Ndivhuwo Maphiri and Charles Mashamba of Academy were booked for dirty tricks and dangerous play.
Ivan Mudau of Benfica could not make the grade, as the opponents used him as their freeway. The technical staff later replaced him with Ndanduleni Mashamba. Academy's strikers wasted many opportunities to win the match.

Mukondeni Ratanang beat Mufeba United 3-1 in the losers' final of the competition. Although two players of Ratanang went to the referee's book in the opening minutes, they continued to fight as an organised team. The two players who were cautioned with cards for rough tackling were Vision Rikhotso and Walter Ralithaga. United were playing against the wind in the first half, but managed to contain their opponents.
Ratanang's goals were scored by Luvhani Masia, Bishop Hlungwani and Silent Mauvha, while Dan Raphwebeli scored United's goal.
