Musina United technical director Joel Masutha is confident his team is still on course for promotion despite a shaky start to the season. After Saturday’s 2-1 win over White Vultures, Masutha praised his squad’s recent form and ambition to reach the Motsepe Foundation Championship League.
“Those who doubted us should look at our last four games,” he said. When Masutha took over last month, Musina United had just one point. Under his guidance, they have collected seven points from four matches.
“The Prophet,” as he is widely known, made an immediate impact with a 1-0 win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, followed by a 1-1 draw with Phalaborwa United and a 1-0 defeat to Lebash Football Academy.
Masutha credited the team’s turnaround to motivation and morale-boosting. “The first thing I did was inspire the players to believe in themselves,” he said.
The former Black Leopards mentor also highlighted the squad’s talent and indicated that reinforcing the team with experienced players will be a priority in upcoming talks with management.
