After being unemployed for three months, the former Black Leopards midfielder, Christopher "Matari" Netshidzivhe, has finally found a new job.
Netshidzivhe has signed a one-year contract with the Pretoria-based National First Division side, University of Pretoria. This was confirmed by the general manager of football at the University of Pretoria, Mr Kenneth "Brother" Neluvhalani. Neluvhalani said that Matari had been training with the team for the past three weeks and that the team's technical committee was impressed with his performance at training.
Matari's marriage with Black Leopards came to an end at the end of last season. His departure from Leopards was accompanied by a salary dispute between the two parties. This after the club failed to pay him his May 2010 salary.
Matari was on the road since then, moving from one club to the other and trying his luck until he finally settled at the University of Pretoria camp. In an interview with Mirror this week, Matari indicated that he was happy with his new employment. He further said that he would prove to his fans that he was not yet finished when Black Leopards gave him a transfer letter which declared him a free agent three months ago. He further indicated that he could not wait for the activities of the new season to commence.
According to Mr Neluvhalani, it did not take long for the technical team of the University of Pretoria FC to realize that Matari was still a potent player during his stay in Pretoria in the past three weeks.
