Veteran Tshivenda musician Reckson Mathoho has called on musicians in Vhembe to rally together to produce high-quality music.

Mathoho, of the popular Tshinombeloni Family Band, was speaking at the launch of a new album by Vhembe poet, praise singer and songwriter Mulalo Nenungwi, better known as Mulalo the Poet.

The album was launched during a well-attended event at Matamba Ndou Pub in Sambandou on Saturday, 6 September. Supporting acts included Rasta Bathu, Proheed, RedB, Tshinombeloni Family, Dakiller Africa, Matrumphet and Jah Mike, who all delivered performances that thrilled the audience.

In April 2025, Nenungwi released a reggae single titled Peace in the World. The single was a major success, receiving extensive play on community radio stations and other SABC regional stations.

At the time, Nenungwi said he was testing the waters and gauging fan reaction. He hinted that a positive response would be followed by a full album. True to his word, the artist from Tshiṱavha Tsha Sambandou has now released a 14-track reggae album of the same name, Peace in the World, recorded at Ravusto Music and Muimeleli Records.

Mulalo the Poet said it had always been his dream to launch the album at home. "This is the place that matters most in my life. This is my home, where everything started, and I think they deserve the privilege of being the first to listen to my music," he said.

He added that the success of the launch was thanks to the supporting artists. "I also owe the success of the launch to the artists who put everything aside to come and support me. To all who supported this initiative, I say keep it up," he said.

Speaking at the event, Mathoho urged all artists to collaborate and strengthen their brands. "I am very excited to be part of this initiative. It is high time that we all work together as artists. What happened here should be a new beginning in our careers," he said.
