Beuster Mighty Chiefs finished their league programme with a bang, following their 1-0 victory over Greenway Sports Academy at the Maungani grounds last Sunday.

Although they had only pride at stake in the match as their promotion to the SAB League was already confirmed, Chiefs did not leave anything to chance. Instead, the home side demonstrated consistency throughout the game, with their midfielders dishing out some telling passes to the goal poachers. Mighty Chiefs lost cohesion in the middle of the park towards the end of the first half. That gave Greenway a good time to knock on their door twice in quick succession.

In the first instance it was Innocent Ramabulana who came close to scoring. He received a beautiful pass from Douglas Maluleke inside the box and shot wide with the stranded keeper already going in the wrong direction. Nndivhaleni Manenzhe made a similar blunder moments thereafter. This after he received a neat pass from Rabelani Matsila.

No goal was seen during the first half. Chiefs introduced Mbulaheni Sekete and Thembuluwo Rambau for Rabelani Matsila and Orilwela Ndou respectively. The replacements marked the turning point of the game as Mighty Chiefs started to dictate terms in all departments.

The boys were separated from men in the 67th minute. Chiefs received a free kick in the 25-meter area. Munei Mukhauli tried his luck from the free kick and Khodani Nemahunguni gave the ball the final touch with a header.

Greenway did not throw in the towel, despite the fact that time was running out for them. They continued to fight collectively, but their strikers were unlucky.
