With most teams left with just three matches before the end of the current soccer season, the fight for promotion and to escape the relegation axe continues among the teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women's League this weekend.
After crushing Masakona Liberty Experience 4-0 at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani last Saturday, Real Mighty Ladies are geared up to collect more significant league points when they meet Tshandama Young Stars at the Tshandama Grounds in the Mutale area on Saturday.
Although they play entertaining football, collecting maximum points has proven to be a challenge for Young Stars. The Stars have managed to win only one of the 11 matches they have played so far. They are currently in the second-last position on the log standings with five points, just two points above Merwe United Ladies.
Masakona Liberty Experience have another tough challenge this Saturday. Still reeling from their 0-4 defeat at the hands of Real Mighty Ladies, Liberty Experience will host Lacoste Morning Stars at the Masakona Grounds. Morning Stars are in good spirits after their 1-0 victory over Merwe United Ladies at the Shayandima High School Grounds last Sunday.
Sealene Ladies will travel to Ramantsha village in the Sinthumule area to face Sinthumulekutama FC. If Sinthumulekutama manage to beat Sealene on Saturday, they will need only four points from their two remaining matches to secure their position. Sinthumulekutama currently lead the pack with 34 points, three points ahead of their title rivals, Sisters FC.
Another match expected to draw a crowd will be between Sisters FC and Rodadau FC at the Dynamos Grounds in Nwamitwa village outside Tzaneen. Sisters and Rodadau are currently in second and third position, respectively.
