The general secretary of Mamu Community Development (MCD), Mr Jafter Mamugudubi, expressed his gratitude after MCD received a sponsorship from Mikasa.

"We want to thank Mikasa for sponsoring us during our community events and for sponsoring us so that we can further our dream of developing more young boys, so that they can play for national teams," Mamugudubi said. "We were so moved by the sponsorship that we even drove all the way from Limpopo to Gauteng to hand Mikasa a token of appreciation."

Mamugudubi said that they considered MCD very lucky after Mikasa had vouched to sponsor them for the next five years. This comes after MCD supplied Mikasa with a satisfactory track record project report that showed that the organisation was helping young boys who were thirsty for realising their sporting dreams.

MCD are the hosts and organisers of the Sinthumule Kutama Soccer Challenge, an annual soccer tournament that brings together 16 soccer teams and thousands of soccer lovers during the Easter weekend. They also host many other sporting and cultural events that draw both adults and the youth into one place to celebrate life through sport and culture.

The sales director at Mikasa Agents and Distributors' Pat Wiltshire Sports, Mr Nick Wiltshire, said that they were committed to ploughing back into the community. "We are very proud to be part of this wonderful project which focuses on the community and celebrates the talent in that rural area," he said.
