Mikhado FC surprisingly beat Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTN) 2-0 in the final of the Arts and Culture Charity Cup at a packed Rabali Stadium on Monday.

The game was a balanced affair in the first 15 minutes, but TTN created more scoring opportunities. The keeper of Mikhado, Elikana Nemakanga, made his presence felt in the 36th minute. Early in the match TTN were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Rendani Dzivhani unleashed from the set piece, but Nemakanga executed a brilliant save.

The captain of Mikhado, Zamrotha Ndou, received a yellow card for handling the ball. His team Mikhado enjoyed most of the ball possession throughout the first half, but were unfortunate not to score.

It took Mikhado 65 minutes to open their account. Their all-rounder, Ernot Dzaga, was on target, following a neat pass from Lucky Masutha. Khaukani Mukandangalo of TTN came close to scoring again in the 68th minute. He held onto the ball for too long within the Mikhado' danger area, until he lost possession.

Mikhado gained momentum with time. Their second goal came in the 74th minute. Aluwani "Killer" Nedzamba made no mistake after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Lufuno Ndou.

The champions, Mikhado, went home with R10 000, gold medals and a floating trophy. Half of the amount they will donate to a charity organisation. The runners-up, TTN, collected R7 000 and silver medals. They will also donate half of their prize money to a charity organisation.

The two teams which lost their matches in the first round, Anel Real Vikings and Rabali Pull Together received R3 000 each.
