Fhumulani Christina Maumela, a model who has now become a semi-finalist in the Miss Lim 2023 competition, believes she has what it takes to win the title.
This 20-year-old beauty is a devout Christian from Tshimbupfe Mavhulani village outside Vuwani and a third-year bachelor of science student at the University of Limpopo. Although she is relatively new in the modelling field, she has already made some impressive strides.
Fhumulani managed to reach the top 16 in the Miss Sports, Arts and Culture Limpopo 2022 competition, won the Miss Youth Polokwane 2022 title, and was crowned first princess in the Face of Polokwane 2022 pageant. She is very proud to have also made it to the semi-final of the Miss Lim 2023, which will take place later this year.
Fhumulani, who is an athlete and part-time model, says that entering the Miss Lim competition was a blessing that has opened not only new avenues for her, but has also given her a new perspective on life. "My pageant career really only began a few months ago, but it has been such an amazing journey so far. I have achieved so much in this short space of time, and I am enlivened to have made it this far. Miss Lim has taught me that sometimes you must create what you want to be a part of. I make it a point to make time to give back to my community by assisting children in learning how to break from their own shells through sports, motivational talks and pageantry coaching.
"As my journey as a Miss Lim finalist continues, I will be visiting elderly people in my community who live alone to assist them with their household chores. Because I want to encourage the next generation to discover their own voice, push limits, and bravely take on all aspects of their lives, I live by the maxim 'Accept who you are and revel in it!' I am more than determined to make it in the final," Fhumulani said.
