"King of VenRap" Mizo Phyll is back with his latest single, called Missed Calls. The song, which was released on Wednesday, 8 March, promises to be yet another smash hit.

Born Livhuwani Aubrey Ratshiungo at Maniini Block J, Mizo Phyll is among Vhembe's most successful musicians. Not only is he a well-established and popular rapper but a songwriter and entrepreneur as well. He has been in the music industry for more than 12 years now and has received multiple accolades, including winning the Best Tshivenda Hip Hop Track for his renowned single, Tshikandeledzi, at the SATMA awards in 2009, as well as the Hip Hop Artist of the Year award at the FAME SA awards in 2015.

Last year, he released a single called Phanda, featuring Makhadzi.

Speaking to Limpopo Mirror recently, Mizo Phyll said the enthusiastic reaction he got from his fans only proved South Africans' love for hip-hop music. "My fans are thrilled that I continue to rap and promote VenRap, especially at a time when Amapiano is starting to dominate the local music industry," he said.

Missed Calls is derived from his upcoming EP. The song's visuals greatly complement the track, which is dedicated to his hardworking fans out there hustling to make a living. "This song is like an anthem for the hustlers, evoking a sense of humble rebellion and victory that listeners can feel when they listen to it. The lyrics 'If I miss the money call, I'm re-dialling' refer to a strong determination to work hard and hustle through the challenges of everyday life. My fans should definitely watch out for my EP, which I am busing cooking up, as it will make waves in the music circle," he said.

Missed Calls is available on all music platforms such as YouTube.
