Ndina Famadi Mlisana, a fashion entrepreneur and community developer, reached the Mrs South Africa 2026 semi-finals, fulfilling a childhood dream. She aims to empower women and youth through her platform, celebrating diversity and confidence.

Ndina Famadi Mlisana from Mulima Pfananani village is one step closer to realising her childhood dream after being named a semi-finalist in the Mrs South Africa 2026 pageant, which will take place at Emperor’s Palace in July.

Mlisana, 36, studied Marketing, Design Techniques, Clothing Production and Entrepreneurship, laying the foundation for her career in business and community development. She is also a fashion entrepreneur and founder of Shavhi’s Closet, through which she empowers youth and women by creating skills development and employment opportunities.

Her decision to enter the pageant is deeply personal. “I started modelling at a very young age, having entered and won the Miss Vhembe pageant. My passion for beauty pageants continued to grow. It did not stop there for me. I also took it upon myself to empower and motivate younger women by getting involved in pageants as a judge,” she said.

Mlisana said she hopes to inspire women who struggle to embrace themselves to believe in who they are. “Mrs South Africa is first and foremost a self-discovery and empowerment programme that celebrates diversity, ambition and confidence while showcasing some of the country’s most phenomenal and talented women. It gives them the skills and tools they need to achieve their dreams. Being one of the semi-finalists means a lot to me. It is truly a dream come true. I feel very fortunate to be part of this amazing,” she said.
