Moose Muziq, a rising poet, rapper, and music producer, released his highly anticipated single titled Elektrhik earlier this month. The track, featuring Mhani Maphiko, is an electrifying Amapiano-Bacardi fusion that is expected to have a lasting impact on the music industry.
With his unique sound that blends Amapiano and Bacardi influences, Moose Muziq, born Musa Nkuna, is carving out a distinctive style for himself. The 30-year-old artist from Malamulele has also worked alongside renowned soulful Xitsonga R&B singer Brian Bomba on his latest album, titled Ride or Die.
Drawing inspiration from notable artists such as DJ Maphorisa and Murumba Pitch, Moose Muziq started his journey as a poet and gradually transitioned into recording demo songs. Elektrhik provides a captivating preview of his upcoming EP, which is yet to be named. The song explores the challenges of load shedding in South Africa and the profound effect it has on people's lives.
Fumani Shilubana, his manager from Swift Management, shared the story behind the song's creation. He told how, one fateful morning, Moose Muziq stumbled upon trending videos of Mhani Maphiko on TikTok, which inspired him to incorporate her voice into one of his beats. "As excitement grew and the song gained traction on TikTok, the team recognised its immense potential. We worked collaboratively to complete it and present it to our eager audience," he said.
Six months ago, he released the video of his hip-hop track, Doris Na Morris, on YouTube, which received a lot of positive reaction.
