Mpheni Defenders and Chiefs in Motsepe clash

Limpopo's ABC Motsepe League resumes this weekend, highlighted by Mpheni Defenders needing just three points to secure the Stream A championship. Meanwhile, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila faces a crucial match against White Vultures in their fight for survival.

After a break of about two weeks, teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will return to action this weekend. The focus will be on the match between Mpheni Defenders and Mukondeni Young Chiefs at Mpheni Grounds on Saturday.

Defenders need only three points from their four remaining fixtures to be crowned Stream A champions. Up The Bulls, as they are affectionately known, lead the pack with 44 points from 18 outings, 11 ahead of Tzaneen United. Mpheni Defenders are the only team yet to lose a league match this season. They should not rest on their laurels, however, as Young Chiefs will be full of confidence after lifting the Cllr Sithi Easter Tournament trophy at Mukondeni Grounds last Sunday.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will travel to Phalaborwa to face White Vultures at Selwane Grounds. TTM have a score to settle after being heavily beaten 5-0 by White Vultures in their first-round league match at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday, 25 January. White Vultures have only pride to play for, while the match is crucial for TTM, who are among three teams fighting for survival.

Musina United will host The Dolphins FC at Musina Rugby Stadium. Vondwe XI Bullets will entertain Tzaneen United at Makonde Stadium, while Nkowankowa Continentals will host Baduzah Celtics at Nkowankowa Stadium outside Tzaneen.

The other fixtures are Lebash Football Academy vs Phalaborwa United and Royal Pirates vs Tubatse United FC.
