Teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will play their last matches of their first-round league programme this weekend. Only two matches will be played on Friday afternoon, while the remaining fixtures are scheduled for Saturday.
The match not to be missed will be between Munaca FC and Mpheni Defenders at the Makhado Show Grounds on Saturday. Defenders and Munaca are close contenders for the league title, with Defenders leading the pack with 18 points. Defenders are still fresh from a 1-0 victory over Maruleng Celtic at the Mpheni Grounds last Saturday, while Munaca were unexpectedly beaten 1-2 by Musina United at the Makhado Show Grounds. Should they fail to beat Defenders on Saturday, Munaca's chances to lift the league trophy at the end of the season will be slim.
After playing to a 1-1 draw with United Artists at home last Saturday, Madridtas FC will be away to try to collect the maximum points against Maruleng Celtic at the Drakensberg Stadium outside Phalaborwa.
United Artists are gearing up for a tough game against Emmanuel FC at the Malamulele Stadium. Emmanuel's centre-back, Ramaremisa Mulaudzi, will be playing against his former teammates, following his departure from Artists two weeks ago. United Artists had recently bolstered their squad by acquiring the services of former Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Black Leopards sharpshooter Rendani Ndou.
Vondwe XI Bullets are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for their home match against Giyani Happy Boys at the Tshifudi Stadium on Saturday.
Musina United will test their strength against Winners Park FC at the Musina Rugby Stadium. Winners Park are still battling to come to terms with the 2-4 defeat they had suffered at the hands of Vondwe XI Bullets last Saturday.
The other fixtures are Tubatse United vs Ditlou FC, Mighty FC vs Tzaneen United, Nkowankowa Continentals vs City Motors, Sunrise FC vs Mokopane PJ Stars, and Eleven Fast Tigers vs The Dolphins FC.
